Indy Networking Event - Nov. 6

For those of you living and working in the Indianapolis area, you’re invited to participate in a networking event for Wabash Students. The Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men and the Schroeder Center for Career Development are hosting the event that will take place at Barnes & Thornburg (address, map) on November 6 from 6:30 to 8:30. I’m told that more than 40 students have already signed up.

The event provides a forum for students to interact with the participating alumni and learn about their career field, their specific company, and their career path. If you’d like to participate, contact Scott Crawford in Career Services or Dave Reed ‘89.

Career Services, Part 2: Showing up the Boilers

More good news from Scott Crawford in the Schroeder Career Center:

Last week Ford Motor Company recruited on campus and interviewed 7 of our seniors. The other school they recruited from was Purdue.

Our guys had all prepped hard for their interviews and showed up on time looking perfect.

Ford selected 4 out of 7 Wabash guys to go on to Detroit for further interviews and only selected 3 out of 22 at Purdue.

Their recruiters (one was Ford’s national marketing manager - not an alum) told me all 7 of our guys were much more impressive than the unfortunate Boilermakers. One of our guys scored the highest interviewing score of the entire recruiting trip!

Because of their excellent performance, Wabash is now permanently on Ford’s national recruiting schedule.

Now, that’s the kind of info we like to hear. Congrats to Scott, his team, and those seniors for being “Ford tough”!
